Gail C. Pierce, AINS, CPIW
Senior Commercial Underwriter
Gail began her insurance career with a captive carrier agent, then joined the wholesaler side of the industry with Jerry Roush in 1978. She began working as support staff processing policy endorsements and cancellations and moved into underwriting shortly thereafter. Gail still enjoys the underwriting aspects of the insurance industry and handles some of the most challenging excess and surplus lines submissions for general, professional and environmental liability. She earned the CPIW (Certified Professional Insurance Woman) and AINS (Associate in General Insurance) designations and completed some CPCU classes. Gail has been volunteering with the Humane Society of Hamilton County since 2000, where she socializes cats and assists with their adoption. She also volunteers her time to assist with the spaying/neutering of stray and feral cats, which results in fewer kittens being born and taken to the shelters.
Brenda L. Chesser
Policy Administrator
Brenda has several years of experience in the insurance industry. Before joining Roush Insurance Services, she worked in the medical malpractice and title insurance fields. Brenda processes cancellations, policy changes and claims. She enjoys spending time with her family and reading a good book.
Scott G. Sackers
Senior Commercial Underwriter
After college graduation, Scott was employed in the car rental industry for ten years. He worked closely with insurance agents, claims representatives and car dealership personnel to arrange insurance replacement rentals for insureds and claimants. Scott expressed an interest in bringing his skills to the insurance industry and joined Roush Insurance Services in 2000. He specializes in commercial property and casualty, liquor liability and bonds. Scott enjoys golfing and spending time with family and friends.
Winifred M. Dudek ("Winnie")
Bookkeeper
Prior to accepting the position of bookkeeper with Roush Insurance Services, Winnie worked in the banking industry for twenty-five years. She started in the Proof Department of a local bank and held various positions in Muncie and Noblesville, including Bookkeeper, Head Teller & 401k Coordinator. When asked about her job, Winnie says simply, "I love it!" Her favorite hobby is currently billiards; she has been a member of American Poolplayers Association (APA) since 1997, plays two nights each week and considers the game to be a great stress reliever. Winnie also enjoys spending her vacation time exploring Indiana and the surrounding states by motorcycle with her husband.
Linda V. Schafer
Personal Lines Underwriter
After almost twenty-five years of Purchasing & Inventory Control, Linda took a giant leap to insurance. She "badly needed a change" and has been with the agency since 2001. She started as an Underwriting Assistant and worked in the policy processing department before becoming a Personal Lines Underwriter. Linda says she "loves the outdoors" and spends her vacation time visiting National Parks. She has driven through all forty-eight states in the continental US and half a dozen Canadian provinces. Linda also likes to listen to music and read.
David C. Lehman ("Dave")
Commercial Underwriter
Dave spent sixteen years in outside sales with Terminix Pest Control and Linc Systems, an industrial tool distributor, before joining Roush Insurance Services in 2004. He obtained his producer license and began his insurance career as a property and casualty underwriter before broadening his knowledge with professional liability, environmental and transportation. Dave has been known to pick up a golf club on occasion, and in addition to handling an extensive ‘honey do’ list, he enjoys spending time with family and friends and listening to and playing music.
Kathy J. Squirlock
Personal Lines Underwriter
Kathy has been in the insurance industry since 1975 when she graduated from high school in New Jersey. She worked at The Hartford Insurance Company where she met her husband, and they have been happily married since 1977. The Squirlocks had two children and moved to Indiana in 1992. Kathy worked for CNA Life Insurance for seven years and has been with Roush Insurance Services since 2004. She enjoys traveling, needlepoint, her cats (OJ and FIGI), 'grandpets' and spending time with her family.
Carolyn L. Kantz
Commercial Underwriting Assistant
Carolyn joined Roush Insurance Services in August, 2018. She has worked in various accounting, customer service and management positions for more than a decade. Excited to gain a better understanding of insurance, Carolyn says she is "eager to grow and learn more about the industry." She enjoys camping and traveling with her husband. Carolyn also enjoys spending time with her children and grandchildren.
Cody R. White
Director, IT/Operations
Cody joined Roush Insurance Services in 2013 and has an A.S. degree in Business Administration and a B.A.S. in Information Technology. He has an extensive background in telecommunications and has earned multiple marketing and technology certifications. Cody’s expertise makes him an important asset to the Roush team as he takes the lead with our cloud migration and integration projects. In addition to automation support, Cody administers our marketing campaigns, data analysis and claims processing. On a personal level, Cody enjoys hockey and following the Chicago Blackhawks, the challenge of cooking, and taking long nature hikes with his sons and dog, in addition to spending quality time with his family.
Karl R. Ehlhardt
Software Developer
Karl joined Roush Insurance Services in 2021 after switching careers from manufacturing to software development and successfully completing the Eleven Fifty Academy's Software Development Immersive Learning Program. He enjoys visiting family and working on personal development projects. Karl's claim to fame is being rank one on the US East server for team 4v4 in Warcraft 3.
Amanda K. Balcom
Customer Service Representative
Amanda spent most of her adult career in customer service and management. Being ready to slow down and make a home somewhere she could see herself long term brought her to Roush Insurance Services. Thirsty for more knowledge and experience in the insurance industry, Amanda says she is "finally happy and ready to plant roots here with us." She enjoys cooking, movie nights, fashion, cosmetics, and spending quality time with her two children.
Erica D. Martin
Customer Service Representative
After graduating college, Erica moved to Chicago to pursue a long career in restaurant management. She traveled the country to train, coach and develop other new managers to be successful in their positions. After living in Chicago for over 10 years, Erica became homesick and moved back close to the small town in which she grew up. There, she has been able to establish a hobby farm with chickens, goats, and a donkey. Ready to change career paths, and always being interested in the insurance industry, Erica is very excited to be a part of the Roush Team!
